How to improve eyesight?
Early in the morning after waking up, I believe that majority of us do splash water in our eyes but that’s not enough. We need to take our eyewash routine to next level.
To accomplish that first fill your mouth full of water, this expands the eye muscles properly, now splash cold water in the eyes a few times.
This will give an instant cooling effect to the eyes. You can feel it.
Once your eyes are wide awake and cool, a rose water wash is the next thing to do.
- For this take an eyewash cup.
- Put about 15 drops of pure rose water along with cold water in it.
- Place it on your eye, ensure that the water does not spill out from the sides.
- Open your eye and let the rose water touch the eye surface.
- Move your pupil in all direction so that the water gets circulated properly inside the eyes.
- Spend about 1 minute doing this, now throw this water, refill the cup with fresh water and rose water. Place it on the other eye and repeat the process.
This morning eye wash routine is tremendously effective in calming down the inflammation in your eyes.
STEP-2 EYE TONIC
The next step is to prepare this powerful homemade eye tonic that will directly nourish the nerves of the eyes. This tonic will help in restoring the lost vision.
Follow these steps to prepare this tonic.
- Take 7 soaked and peeled Indian almonds (Gurbandi almonds). These almonds are small in size, highly rich in oil, Vitamin A, E and other nutrients which are good for the eyes.
- Along with this take 4 seeds of whole black pepper.
- For sweetener, you can use rock sugar (mishri).
- Put all these ingredients in the mortar and using a pestle crush them together to form a smooth powder.
- Take one glass of milk in a pan and add this powder to it.
- Let the milk boil for 10 minutes on low flame.
- Do not strain the mixture and drink this powerful formulation slowly.
To get the maximum benefit out of this, do not eat anything for the next 1 hour.
STEP-3 EYE SOOTHER
30 minutes before going to sleep, you have to take a mixture of 1 teaspoon of Mahatriphala Ghrit along with 250mg of Abhrak Bhasm. Follow this up with one glass of warm milk.
Mahatriphala Ghrit- It is the combination of ghee along with dozen of herbs that calm the heat and dryness of the eyes.
Abhrak Bhasm- it is a classical Indian medicine prepared from mica and over 60 indigenous herbs.
Both of these are classical ayurvedic medicines highly effective in treating eye disorders.
STEP-4 OPTIC MASSAGE
Just before sleeping, take a few drops of Mahatriphala Ghrit on your hands and massage the soles of your feet.
The nerves beneath the soles are directly connected to the optic nerves. This instantly increases blood circulation which helps in improving vision.
STEP-5 EYE DROP
The last step is to put a couple of drops of the same Mahatriphala Ghrit in each of your eyes. Wait for about 10 minutes before you open them.
Note that the eyes will go blurry for a while and that’s when you know that the ghee has seeped well into the eyes. The glory of Mahatriphala Ghrit has been sung at length in the ancient texts.
‘Mahatriphala Ghrit is dangerous, not because of its efficacy, safety or non-toxicity, but only because it is simple and therefore threatens the medical perception that eyes should be only treated by doctors’– Dr Bhaswati Bhattacharya
