Well, the most effective way is to visit your gynaecologist and start those prescribed medications but it does have some side effects.
So instead of opting for chemical-laden medicines which can cause side effects and hormonal imbalances, try these natural remedies and see how it works for you.
How to prepone the periods naturally?
- Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is known to be a stomach calming agent. However, it can be used for inducing early periods.
Squeeze the gel from the leaf, take one teaspoon of aloe vera gel with honey just before you have your breakfast.
Loaded with carotene, the papaya is bound to induce early periods. Since papaya helps to release more estrogen, it does your intended job really well. You can either consume it as a fruit or make its juice with lemon.
Drink pomegranate juice for a few days before you want the flow to start. Also mixing sugarcane juice with pomegranate juice can give you good results.
Pineapples can generate heat in your body. This heat can make your periods come faster. You can make a fruit salad of pineapple and papaya and your task is half done.

- Turmeric tea
One of the surest ways of inducing periods is this turmeric tea. Mix some turmeric in hot water and you can prepone periods by 5 days before the actual due date. Have it two times a day.
- Tofu and soy milk
Tofu and soy milk are rich in calcium and phytoestrogens that help to regulate irregular periods and curb delayed periods. Add this protein-rich tofu and soy to your daily diet to get your periods on time.
- Hot compress
Take a steam belt or a hot water bag and place it on your abdomen for some time in a day. Alternatively, you can sit in a warm water bathtub for some time every day. A hot compress also helps in period cramps. One study from 2012 proves that applying a heat patch at 104°F on the affected area is as effective as ibuprofen.

Excessive salty foods are not good for the body as they cause bloating and a feeling of fullness. If you want to induce periods, avoid salty and heavy foods which are deep-fried or high in calories.
- Add Vitamin C
Vitamin C can induce periods by increasing the levels of estrogen in the body. Increased levels of estrogen stimulate uterine contractions, which in turn stimulates bleeding. Vitamin C can also reduce progesterone levels, which initiate the breakdown of the uterine walls, leading to an early period.
Consume around 60mg of Vitamin C to get your periods faster. You can eat broccoli, leafy vegetables and citrus fruits as they are extremely rich in Vitamin C.
Snacking on almond, cashew and walnut can be a good way to prepare yourself before the onset of your periods. These nuts are rich in fibre and proteins. Eating a handful of these before periods can be good for your health.

Apple cider vinegar works wonder when it comes to preponing periods, Apple cider vinegar makes your body alkaline and reduce inflammation caused by hormonal irregularities.
Add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a warm glass of water and drink it twice a day before your meals.
An important note
Everybody is different and reacts differently. These tips may or may not work for you. Don’t overdo anything because some foods can increase heat in your body and may not be healthy for you especially in the summer season.
Also, make sure that you are not allergic to any of these food items. If you have a problem with acne and pimples, avoid eating food that produces heat in the body. This can make your pimples even worse.
Another point to remember is that if you think your period may be late due to pregnancy then the use of emmenagogues to induce your period may terminate your pregnancy.
It is best to let periods happen in an undisturbed and uninterrupted manner. However, there could be occasions where you wish to prepone the periods and that’s completely okay.
